Why Does Live Music Sound Better?

Most audiophiles will agree live music sounds better than recorded music. I certainly would. I’ve heard recorded music played on million dollar systems and very inexpensive budget friendly systems. In each case, live sounds better. Why is that? If a guitar solo is played on an audio system, and a live performer played the same solo while sitting directly in front of the audio system, which would sound better? Is it possible that with live music we see the performers in addition to hearing them? Could it be that the combination of watching a performance coupled with hearing one enhances our musical experience beyond what only listening provides? Is that why live sounds better? Comments? We’d like to hear your thoughts!
